History



Lakeland Inter-American School, a co-educational International School is located in Ratmalana, a suburb of Colombo city. The primary vision is to provide education with a difference to provide a nurturing ground for the intellectual and physical development of students in a safe caring and positive atmosphere.

This project is spearheaded by the noble vision of Mrs Kushala Kumari Sinnarajah, our foundress.

And so Lakeland Inter-American School came into being in September 2004 with a student body of 50 members and a staff body of 7 members, conducting classes from the Montessori to Grade 8.

The school was originally housed in a small make-shift building and then in April 2005 the school was shifted to its present 4 storey- building, located in Ratmalana, a suburb of Colombo city.
